Charter School Academy 2019 (Wifi: CSA19)

Literacy across the content areas is essential if students are to succeed in the classroom. Teachers, across the curriculum, face the challenge of helping students comprehend their subject area texts. This proves especially difficult if students lack the necessary literacy skills required in order to comprehend. This session will focus on the importance of writing and thinking across the content area classrooms. Teachers will explore research-based strategies that focus on ways for teachers to use writing in the classroom to develop student understanding.
