There is often a perceived battle among educators between teaching to the test and providing quality learning experiences. Accountability drives a greater emphasis on the test, but that doesn't mean we have to lose an engaging, high-quality learning environment. This session will utilize the Performance Level Descriptors to show participants the language surrounding what students can do at each performance level on STAAR. They will then be guided to explore how to work with teachers with those PLDs to develop scaffolded, performance-based tasks and assessments that are engaging, rigorous, and align with STAAR.
